I decided to be brave and try using my speedlight on and off camera. I really need to get the hang of it before winter really sets in, preferably in time for Z's 1st birthday. Admittedly, most people probably would not practice on an outdoor shoot. I wasn't sure at 1st, but the more I look at these, the more I like them. Sure, most of it is probably Mummy goggles, I am not blind, even on an uncalibrated monitor I can see the colour cast in his hair, which I will work on at some point. I still like them!! I really need to think about getting a stand and/or shoot through umbrella as I found a 5 year old to be unreliable, lol!

On a whim we decided to drive up the road from where we were staying to a little place called Clovelley. I am so glad we went as the place was truely stunning and hasn't changed much in more than 100 years. It was good exercise too, the slope was steep and the climb back up while slinging a 10 month old had turned my legs to complete jelly!

After wanting to go for 7 years, we finally made it! For those who don't know, we had actually drove almost all the way there in 2002 when we were involved in an RTA and wrote off the car, putting an end to our day out.
We had an enjoyable time, although it is too hot in the rain forest dome, lol!
